On 12 March 2026, within LET EXPO 2026 at the stand of Unione Interporti Riuniti, the event “Safe and secure parking areas supporting the national logistics network: practical experiences from the PASS4CORE projects” took place, focusing on Safe and Secure Truck Parking Areas (SSTPA) and their strategic role for European logistics.
The event, which we contributed to organize and moderate, provided an important opportunity for discussion among logistics operators, infrastructure managers and sector stakeholders on the main developments related to the PASS4CORE projects and the future perspectives of the national SSTPA network.
The session was opened by ZAILOG – Consorzio ZAI – Interporto Quadrante Europa, who highlighted the importance of discussing these topics within events such as LET EXPO, fostering dialogue among institutions, companies and logistics stakeholders.
During the event, participants explored the main aspects related to the development of SSTPAs in Italy, with particular attention to the experiences gained through the PASS4CORE projects and the opportunities offered by European funding programmes to improve safety, sustainability and efficiency in freight transport. The roundtable also involved representatives from ports, freight villages, energy operators and specialised companies, providing a concrete discussion on the operational, technological and infrastructural challenges linked to the development of a more integrated and secure logistics network.
