On 23 April 2026, we attended the event organised by SAPIR Group in Ravenna, focused on digitalisation, intermodality and sustainability within the Ravenna freight terminal system.
The event represented an important opportunity for discussion among logistics operators, institutions and regional stakeholders on the future development of the Ravenna port and rail logistics system, increasingly oriented towards efficient, integrated and sustainable logistics models.
During the conference, the new technological and infrastructure investments planned for the SAPIR intermodal terminal were presented, with particular attention to logistics flow automation systems, digital management of operations and the strengthening of rail intermodality. Speakers also highlighted the strategic role of cooperation among operators, institutions and regional logistics clusters in supporting the competitiveness of the Ravenna node within European transport networks. The event also provided the opportunity to discuss the contribution of European and national funding programmes to the innovation of the logistics sector, in a context increasingly focused on digitalisation, operational efficiency and environmental sustainability.
